Epic Book Chronicles Alpine’s Racing History in Germany

Yesterday, we featured an article about a restoration shop that specializes in returning Alpine’s to their former glory. This monumental book (and included video), by Mr. Jörg D. Brosowski, tells the story of what might be considered France’s greatest GT. Though the Alpine A110 was assembled from Renault parts, it is more than just the simple of sum of its components. So is this book. It tells Alpine’s, and their cars’, story that brought tremendous success and worldwide acclaim to both Alpine and Renault brands. Besides the French, the Germans are arguably most passionate about Alpine. Highlighting the ten years between 1968 through 1977, the author documents how Alpine drove straight into the heart of the German racing community.

Researched over eight years and written over two more, the book is limited to 1296 (engine displacement of the Alpine Berlinetta) copies. Chronicling each year, Jörg describes circuits, races, cars, and drivers at work, all presented through beautiful, privately-sourced photos.
