Frederic Dams Illustrates Historic Racing Moments In Glorious Fashion

Every single piece of art that we offer in our store has to be something that we would be excited to see on the walls of our own garage or in our own home. Frederic Dams work is no exception.

His medium is digital, which he explains gives him “the freedom to work with any substrate or medium I wish to use. Not having physical material constraints allows for infinite creative possibilities.”

The first of the three prints illustrates the 1975 BMW 3.5 CSL IMSA. Far and away one of the most successful CSL BMWs. Piloted by Brian Redman and Ronnie Petersen to victory time and time again, this print captures the iconic car in a whirl of speed and emotion.

From there Dams explored the idea of the ultimate paddock, a 250 SWB/C lineup that looks eerily similar to the collection we saw on display at the Goodwood Revival this year. Dubbed “La Bella Cinque”, Dams profiles five glorious SWBs head on.

Finally, we reach the roads of Le Mans, specifically the 38th running of the race taking place on June 13th and 14th of 1970. Hans Herman and Richard Attwood’s legendary 917K throttle to the front of the pack passed Willi Kauhsen and Jacky Ickx’s respective Porsche 917L and Ferrari 512S.

The three are available in “Standard” or “Premium” giclée print on brilliant white fine art paper. The “Standard” editions are in smaller size and limited to 75 prints while the “Premium” editions are larger in size and limited to 50 prints. All three are now available at the Petrolicious Shop.
