Singer’s Restored 911s Stole The Show At Amelia Island

At a major event for collectors like the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, what’s most telling is where the crowds start to form. Singer puts 964-generation Porsche 911s through a process that completely reimagines the iconic machine—and its work is something that has clearly struck a chord with enthusiasts the world over.

Its two newest unveilings are for The Florida Car (in Hemingway Blue) and The North Carolina Car (in Blood Red Dark). Both have been reborn—as many would agree—as the pinnacle of their breed in 2016. Given what goes into a Singer—and the eight to ten month timeframe—consider that the California company spends significantly more time on these 911s than Porsche did when they were initially built!

Which of the two cars would you have preferred for a scenic blast up the Florida coast?

both of these cars completely stole the show. walking in past Maserati these two both caught my eye, unbelievable cars. and the singer people who were there to show the cars were super engaged which made it all the more fun. They wanted to talk to you about what they had on had and it was great to hear there enthusiasm for the cars as well as all the people constantly milling around them. One guy who was reading there little sign about the blue car kept asking his buddy “how can this be a 1991” it was very cool to see theses cars up close

I think the detail shot aesthetic is kind of charming but frustrating. Kind of like skirts in the early 60s that revealed just enough leg to pique the imagination. Of course by the time flaired 911s existed mini skirts were all the rage, so show us the legs Petrolicious!

I think I’d vote for the blue too.

A couple of more beauties from the fine folks at Singer . Honestly should a serious little brain takes over the big brain Mid Life crisis occur .. finding myself in need of spending a bundle on another sports/exotic … I’d spend it on a Singer over anything currently on offer [ for the same price or more than a Singer ] from the likes of McLaren , Ferrari , Lamborghini , Audi ( R8 ) Aston Martin etc. as well as any classic I might desire .

Why ? Two reasons ; One because the Singer is infinitely more usable as a daily driver and as I’ve said elsewhere … if I ant using it ( regularly ) .. I aint buying /keeping it ….. Second because a Singer [ with the badge delete option ] .. is .. how shall I say this … anonymous to the majority of the general public .. looking like a well maintained 911 until the details are observed ..e.g. Either you know what it is … and you get it .. or you do not … and you’re not bothering me to get a closer look /ask inane questions .

Point blank the Singer is the most anonymous exotic money can buy .. not to mention the most usable .

Dear Petrolicious, as others have pointed out lately, you really need to institute a policy that each set of photos for an article must include a few whole-car shots. I love the detail photos but they’re worthless to me without a picture of the whole car to give them context. Maybe not worthless but certainly frustrating.

I like the blue cars color but prefer the red one’s simpler less fussy interior [ there’s a ton pf photos of both showing more detail elsewhere on the net this week ] Put the red one’s interior into the blue car and we’d have a hands down winner . Oh … but wait … Singer’d do that … no problem
