This BMW E30 Is A Spiritual Successor
Love your channel! No matter which film i am watching I end up falling in love with each & every car, I tell myself yeah that’s the car I want instead of mine. I’m going through a tough time, because I don’t “love” my car and I have spent so much money trying to get it right…and it fights me at every turn, I should write my story!

At 1:24 Delia makes a remark about changing out the e30 blower motor in “20 hours rather than 20 weeks”. The reference is probably to the e46, which I happen to own. To change out a cabin ac/heater blower motor on a 325i, the cam cover has to come of the top of the engine. Swapping out the blower is laborious. Don’t ask me how I know.

I have been daily driving E30s since 2005ish. When they were new and expensive, I truly hated them (for all the haters out there, be careful, hate can flip to love without notice). Currently, they are a bargain, and with over 2 million produced, parts are reasonably cheap, My 318is is a rough sight, with a few dents on one side, but it provides joyous commutes. There are reasons why these cars won so many races 25 years ago, and why they keep winning races every week. They engineered them to be tough as nails, and the chassis begs you to thrash it at the edge of adhesion.
Great car in sweet condition and magnificently filmed. I myself owned a e30 318is years back. It didn’t have power steering which meant parking in downtown Stockholm was a bit of a pain. Overall a highly recommendable car which a can bet will have a steady following and increase in price. Crisp handling, timeless proportions, excellent visibillity, rewarding high reved engine and nimble size. I regret selling it. Will scan the web tonight for a good speciment…!

A lady mechanic, who wears finger-nail polish and suede, and quotes Shakespeare. How absolutely delightful. And, yes, I drive an E46, the last E46, but it is the E30 which is that magical platform that captured the agility of the 2002 and is far lighter than the 3 series cars of the 21st century.
