This BMW E30 Is A Spiritual Successor

1991 may have been the last time the company made a car in the likeness of its beloved 2002

The E30 M3, from all angles is alive. A time machine that will take you back to when cars were made to drive and made you want to drive. So far removed from today’s anaesthetised A to B drones. Love this vlog. Thanks P.Licious.

Love your channel! No matter which film i am watching I end up falling in love with each & every car, I tell myself yeah that’s the car I want instead of mine. I’m going through a tough time, because I don’t “love” my car and I have spent so much money trying to get it right…and it fights me at every turn, I should write my story!

Delia is what I call a car chick and I love that! I wish there were more car chicks and I’d love to see more featured on Petrolicious, if possible. Another great car, great video and great story! Thanks for sharing!

Not very found of the E30 (probably because over here – Portugal – they’re a dime a dozen, ) but still , nice roads, scenery, story and deep voice ! 🙂

Great video.
Cars are like people they come in all types, shapes, sizes, etc.
But can still be appreciated and admired.
I love the fact that Delia loves her car, drives it a lot, and its not about the $, or the brand, its about the experiences one has driving.
You don’t have those experiences if your not driving.
Have a great day.

At 1:24 Delia makes a remark about changing out the e30 blower motor in “20 hours rather than 20 weeks”. The reference is probably to the e46, which I happen to own. To change out a cabin ac/heater blower motor on a 325i, the cam cover has to come of the top of the engine. Swapping out the blower is laborious. Don’t ask me how I know.

typo: “20 minutes rather than 20 weeks”.

Petro people, I wish this site had an ‘edit’ button.

Such a beautiful and inspirational piece. Makes you want to appreciate the current car you have and not on a constant hunt to upgrade.
Delia herself is such an intriguing person. I feel like I can listen to her tell stories all day.

Delia is an actress. Hence, the cultivated voice. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4246004/

I have been daily driving E30s since 2005ish. When they were new and expensive, I truly hated them (for all the haters out there, be careful, hate can flip to love without notice). Currently, they are a bargain, and with over 2 million produced, parts are reasonably cheap, My 318is is a rough sight, with a few dents on one side, but it provides joyous commutes. There are reasons why these cars won so many races 25 years ago, and why they keep winning races every week. They engineered them to be tough as nails, and the chassis begs you to thrash it at the edge of adhesion.

Great car in sweet condition and magnificently filmed. I myself owned a e30 318is years back. It didn’t have power steering which meant parking in downtown Stockholm was a bit of a pain. Overall a highly recommendable car which a can bet will have a steady following and increase in price. Crisp handling, timeless proportions, excellent visibillity, rewarding high reved engine and nimble size. I regret selling it. Will scan the web tonight for a good speciment…!

Great video!
I bought my E30 when I was 17, now I’m 24 and still driving an E30 1.8is.
Not the most reliable car ever, but it will get you home… even if home is 11h drive away and it’s running on two cylinders.

The amazing videography and editing is by Jeremy Heslup, Valkyr Productions, LLC., Culver city, California

Marin County locations suggested by myself included China Camp, Fort Baker, Richmond Bridge and Pacific Coast Highway just south Of Stinson Beach.

Thanks Delia but it should be at the end of the video. Every video shown by Petrolicious. Lovely car by the way.

Thanks Delia for crediting the production folks.
It’s a wonderful thing when someone finds that right car. Great job explaining the virtues of the E30. I always loved Datsun 510s for similar reasons.

It was only yesterday Andrew Golseth posted a story about the E30 getting on his nerves. I wonder if his piece was inspired by this video. As for myself, I’m more impressed with the owner than the car.

I’m with Mark,
The “tasteful” thing to do is give credits where they’re due. All these folks with good car stories get kudos, why not the people that due your excellent filming and sound?

A lady mechanic, who wears finger-nail polish and suede, and quotes Shakespeare. How absolutely delightful. And, yes, I drive an E46, the last E46, but it is the E30 which is that magical platform that captured the agility of the 2002 and is far lighter than the 3 series cars of the 21st century.

Another entertaining video but what is it with you guys at Petrolicious. No credits to who filmed it. All I can find is “by PetroliciousProductions” Come on guys, do the right thing by the artists involved. Even the most tyrannical movie production houses give credit where it’s due.
