The car: 1968 Jaguar XK-E 4.2 2+2 Coupe

Price: $36,500

Only a blind man wouldn’t realize that the Jaguar E-Type (“XK-E” to Americans) is simply one of the most gorgeous cars ever designed. Sure, plenty of coach-built cars from the 1930s through the 1950s have something going for them, but rare is the mass-produced car that elicits such oohs and aahs like the E-Type. Available body styles were the roadster, fixed-head coupe, and 2+2.

This 1968 4.2-Litre E-type on eBay may be the easiest way to enjoy one of the greatest cars in the world. It’s a 2+2 so it has room for the whole tribe, it’s driven twice a week in a suburban New Jersey commute (so it might actually be reliable), and it has air conditioning so it’ll always be comfortable when the sun shines through the large expanses of glass. Demerits include the aforementioned AC, which needs to be fixed, and an automatic transmission, which is a mixed blessing for New Jersey traffic. Seller says, “I have spent a lot of money and time on cosmetic restoration of the vehicle as well as mechanical,” so hopefully nothing more is needed for you to hop in and drive it home wherever you may live.

If you know of a great, stylish car for sale and would like us to feature it, please let us know!

That’s a really nice looking car and the E-type is certainly on my shortlist. However, I’d prefer an S1 in red or the oh-so-obvious British Racing Green. The fact that this particular one has got an automatic absolutely kills it for me though.
