The car: 1988 Mercedes G300D (G-Wagen)

Price: £12995 (offers invited)

Location: Reading (Berkshire county), England, UK

Seller’s Info: Click Here

This boxy Benz looks as if it can traverse any terrain in the world, but it has only covered 34,500 miles. That’s due to its 14-year residence in a private vehicle collection. It comes as no surprise that its current owner states, “The bodywork on this G-Wagen is in excellent condition as is the Interior [sic]. Drives superbly with a good strong engine and gearbox.”

The Maize Yellow rig’s hardcore suspension has been fortified with “higher[-]spec shocks and springs.” The fuel tank is now protected by an aluminum shield. The truck itself is covered by MOT validation until April of 2015.

When I lived in Colorado there were quite a number of these around, and they were all very rusty. I lived in the Front Range which is dry as burnt toast, and the snow often melted before the chemical trucks came out, so cars didn’t generally rust. Really made me wonder about the materials quality they used in the bodies.
