Tatra T87: Things of the Past
Kevin, I agree completely….the cars, the Videos…all are truly wonderful and interesting in their own way but for me…after viewing these wonderful videos and stories….it has to be the people behind them…how does this Mr. Greenstein know what he does, where and how did he come upon the skills. I am building my new workshop and have been working on my old 914 for more than a few years but for sure I will never have the skills these people have and that is okay. My first post but have been viewing these great short stories for quite a while….great fun. The tongue and cheek posts following are fun too!

Guys like Mr. Greenstein are the true vintage. Forget the wonderful old cars, jukeboxes, motorcycle, and old Czech army uniforms, those are great. But Mr. Greenstein is the one I like to see, to hear, and to know how he can be so good at so many things; how did he get so clever with his hands, how does his brain retain all this mechanical knowledge, how does he speak so eloquently, and finally, how did he learn to pronounce Czech words?
Tatra. Love ehm! Both trucks and cars. They still seem to lack the respect/recognition they deserve in my opinion. They really where ahead of their time and have made some staggering technical marvelous machines. Their air cooled engines where fantastic. They had V10 and V12 air cooled diesel truck engines that stoot their test of time up into this millenium. Independend suspension on trucks, pioneered on their cars well before anyone thought of such an idea.
Its videos like this that i come to Petrolicious everyday and i think we can all agree the car hobby could use a bit more people like this in it. I am also into the more unusual and oddball like cars the world has to offer and I think the Tatra fits the bill quite nicely. Its really a shame when you ask people about innovative car makers they usually give you Ferrari, Lotus, and maybe even GM in some cases which is fine but its really sad that Tatra is always out of the picture.
