5 Instagrammers Worth Following June 9 Edition

Each week, we like to bring you a handful of fantastic Instagram accounts to follow. Inevitably, however, someone here at the Petrolicious HQ will say, “But what about…?” once our roundup is published. Not this time: we’ve been canvassing and digging through our feeds to find some hidden gems that you’re probably not following.

We did a film on Carl Magnussen’s Abarth; he’s a prolific industrial designer and his account is a really intimate private study of design elements—all from one of the best in the business. Right now, he’s got maybe 100 followers…

We just did a Volkswagen Bus feature with Matt Jacobsen. He runs a good account with a mix of interesting car moments and behind the scenes looks at one of Silicon Valley’s most interesting dudes.

The Outlierman offer men’s accessories that are handcrafted in Italy. The team behind the goods, however, really live the lifestyle and can often be seen, well, driving tastefully. (We offer a few of its items in our Shop as well.)

When Toyota Corollas and historic Nissan Silvia drift cars start cracking the six-figure mark, we’re all going to look around and wonder, “Who on earth will actually know anything about these cars?” Dino Dalle Carbonare from Speedhunters is that guy.

One of the most underappreciated Instagram accounts going, Rosario’s one of our regular photographers here at Petrolicious and does exceptional work. He’s also not just about cars: as you can see by his feed, his cycling and travel shots are tops, too.

No problem for me. You’d be nuts trying to drive your old classics to downtown LA anyway!

Agreed .. but it aint just downtown thats on the verge of becoming off limits . In CA alone try the PCH … greater LA county [ cause CA’s air quality is sooooo good ] Silicon Valley , Sonoma , Mill Valley , Yosemite , Sequoia , the greater SF area etc etc et al are all on the books for future bans on pre 1998 vehicles . Trust me .. in another ten years you’ll be lucky to be able to park your classic in your own driveway … never mind actually be allowed to drive it … anywhere .

Why ? Simple math . One measly 1.5 liter 4 cylinder from the 80’s puts out ten times more emissions than that Gangsta Rapper blinged out DonkMobile Cadillac Escalade blasting out Hip Hop noise at 130 db and above filled to the brim with Football/ Basketball / Baseball celebrities and their minions that just drove up next to you does .

And thats the kind of math that will put an end to this hobby much sooner than later . So as stated .. drive tastefully while you can … cause you won’t be for very much longer …. hmmm … so much for the investment potential of the mundane classics escalating faster than a speeding … dud

And so it begins gentlemen . Coming to a city near you much sooner than later I’m afraid … no doubt extending to the suburbs and beyond as well [ the National Parks system is considering doing the same as well ]

So drive tastefully while you can …

” One of Silicon Valley’s most interesting dudes ”

The oxymoron of the week … if not the entire year . Nah … on 2nd thought Trump’ll provide many more at a much higher level over the course of the year .. so lets call it .. oxymoron of the week and leave it at that .
