Classic Car Auctions has for sale 160 classic cars covering 72 years of motoring history at its December Sale at the Warwickshire Exhibition centre, its final event of the year.
The auction is orientated towards, what CCA terms as ‘everyman’ classics. The lot list includes 17 BMWs, 14 Fords, 12 Mercedes-Benz, 11 Jaguars, eight Volkswagens, seven Triumphs and a Porsche tractor.
Included in a sale is the 1984 Opel Manta 400 Group B rally homologation special and, in similar fashion, a 1991 Audi UR-Quattro RR 20V – offered at £30,000 to £35,000.
Offered with a lower estimate of £11,000 is a former Sir David Jason, star of Only Fools and Horses, owned 1987 Volkswagen Golf GTi convertible. The 21,500 mile specimen is one of only 138 examples of the limited edition All White Series.
Other lots with celebrity ties include a 1965 Mini Cooper S twice used by radio DJ Chris Evans’ Famous Five trips for Children in Need, including fake gold bullion in the boot in celebration of the Mini’s starring role in The Italian Job.
Despite the inclusion of a Ferrari 456 and 1991 Honda NSX, the two cars expected to fetch the most are a 1985 Porsche 911 Targa Supersport SSE and a 1989 911 Carrera Supersport SSE, both sporting the factory fitted M491 body kit, and estimated at £68,000 to £74,000 and £60,000 to £70,000 respectively.
CCA auction manager Gary Dunne said: ‘We’ve selected cars to suit a range of tastes and budgets, whether you’re new to classic car ownership or an experienced collector, and we have some real show-stoppers up for grabs. We like to think we’ll help a few people out with their Christmas gift shopping too!’
A dedicated viewing afternoon will take place on Friday December 1, with the auction on the following day.
