The car: 1985 Ferrari Mondial QV

Price: $23,500

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, USA

It’s fitting that the word Mondial translates to ‘world’ because this 1985 Ferrari has made quite the trip across the globe. It was originally purchased at Charles Pozzi Levallois Ferrari in France, traded in after a year, then owned by the same person from 1986 to 2008. That man began stabling this 240-hp prancing horse in Florida in 2001. The current owner has had this Nero-on-Creama Euro-spec wedge since August of 2009.

And yet, after all of those years, this mid-engined Italian has only racked up about 40,000 miles. According to the seller, it’s had a “full recent service including timing belts, rollers, cam seals, accessory belts, new high torque starter, r134 air conditioning conversion, distributer [sic] caps, rotors, wires, plugs, new oil pressure sending unit, new Scuderia Rampante coolant hoses and coupling under plenum, … several Fuel [sic] & vacuum lines, … fresh fluids, heat shielding, … window speed kit, … new relays, new clutch slave cylinder, … new battery, recent paint and … more.” Service records are available, as are receipts for the most-recent work.

Don’t worry – this Mondial comes with its factory wheels as well as the 360 rollers you see above.

I think Mondial is unloved for good reasons. I don’t know the last “t” model, but this was one of the Ferrari’s that ruined my Ferrari dream, along with Testarossa and 348. They were awful. At least Testarossa looks spectacular.

The 360 wheels need to go. I actually think the Mondial shape suits a larger wheel than was factory fitted but these are too big. The 17″ wheels from a 348 work better IMO.
