Blackbird Automotive Journal Shines Brightly

Here at Petrolicious we receive a lot of books and magazines for our consideration. And while we appreciate the effort that is put into all of them, some just shine a bit more brightly than others. Still others shine much more brightly like Blackbird Automotive Journal. We received our first copy of Blackbird, a quarterly publication, last spring and just got our summer copy a couple of weeks ago.

Since receiving our first issue however, we’ve struck up a friendship based on mutual respect and a love for all things automotive. And we completely agree with Editor-in-Chief TK who says, “I have never thought that you needed to have a car to gain enjoyment of it; just looking at a wall of old car posters, you can see how past designers relied on simple lines and proportions long ago to stir enthusiast’s emotions.” Indeed.

Click here to check out Blackbird Automotive Journal and perhaps get a subscription of your own.

At Petrolicious we get many books and magazines that attract our attention. Still there is no doubt about it that there are some that are way more popular and better than others and one of them is Blackbird Automotive Journal. The time we got our first copy of Blackbird, that is known as a quarterly publication, in last spring and we just got our summer copy a few weeks ago. We have received our first issue and now we like it some much and this bound seems very strong between us and it is based upon mutual respect and a love for all those things that are automotive. https://www.bulletjournalideas.com/18-brilliant-bullet-journal-ideas/

Wow, just wow. Received the first four volumes today and can’t take my eyes away! This is an amazing piece of work. The stories are engaging, the photos unreal. I highly recommend you order them all.

As Yoav said, they are currently working on getting a subscription model (I emailed about it). You can buy all four current volumes from the website, bundled with Obscura Magazine (also amazing). I ordered all four and on 9/12 and received them today. Ran about $120 total with shipping (they don’t combine shipping which adds up). Well worth it!

Thanks Petrolicious!

Well … looks like we’re all in the same cannot negotiate their site or figure out how to subscribe . And here I thought it was just my being of a certain age as well as a bit of a luddite on some issues

Petrolicious Gang ? Y’all got an answer for those of us wanting to lay our hard earned down for a subscription ? If not .. can you inquire of the publishers how to do so ?

Hey guys, currently buying individual issues via the Blackbird site is the easiest way to get your hands on one. They’re working on a subscription service currently, but it’s not up yet. Thanks!

This looks like a stellar publication. Perhaps a silly question, but can someone share the link to subscribe? I am only seeing where to buy individual issues.
Thanks!

Same here. How/where to actually see an issue and also obtain it? Not at all clear from their website..

Looks amazing. Is there a USA distributor or do you have to order it online?

Looks like the perfect accompaniment for my TRJ [ The Rodders Journal ) and FBJ [ FretBoard Journal ] subscriptions ! Those three and a good cup of coffee [ or a mighty fine micro brew depending on time of day ] .. and I’ll be a very happy Gear/GuitarHead . So what is it with me and Journals of late? Oh yeah … all the mainstream automotive magazines [ including the UK and EU ones ] have fallen down the rabbit hole of excess commercialism and a dearth of actual articles worth reading .

Molto grazie for this one Petrolicious crew ! I was in dire need of a serious Sports Car fix to go with the Hot Rods & Guitars on my coffee table . Errr .. make that a grazie mille ! ( a thousand thanks )
