According to collector car insurance agency Hagerty, Jaguar 420s were not common purchases in the U.S. Nevertheless, you’re looking at one registered right here in the good old U.S. of A.

Over the past forty-seven years, this silver cat has only had three owners, the most recent of whom took possession in 1995. All of them have contributed to the rolling over of this four-door feline’s odometer and the 44,000 miles currently showing on it. Despite that, the glass and chrome are “excellent” and the 4.2-liter I6 “needs nothing.”

The equally excellent interior, on the other hand, provides a lot, such as air conditioning, an automatic transmission, and wood trim.

If I remember correctly there were 6 Daimler versions of the 420G brought in to SoCal in 1967. By 1971 we were servicing 4 of these at the shop I worked at in Studio City, CA. Celebrity ownership was not uncommon, I believe Nancy Culp of Beverly Hillbillies fame had one of these.

This is truly a beautiful car – having driven it many times to shows along with the owners collection of other cars, I can attest to the fact that this is a strong running, great handling 420 that would make any owner proud.

420’s seem well priced compared to the Mk II or S Type, I reckon they’re pretty cool.

Amazingly considering how few of these cars made it to the US one was used both in a promotional video , a documentary film as well as in an ad for one of his CD’s for American music legend JJ Cale .
