The Group C category was introduced in 1982 and governed cars contesting the World Sportscar Championship. The formula was hugely popular with spectators and manufacturers alike and produced some of the most striking cars of the era.
As a kid in the ’80s, Guy Allen was a regular at the Silverstone 1000km and picking his favorites from sportscar racing’s most competitive decade was not easy. Porsche, Lancia, Jaguar, Mercedes, Mazda, Peugeot, Toyota and Nissan are all represented.
