A beautiful collectors art book telling the history of the Land Speed Record and in particular records achieved by British drivers with internal combustion engine powered, wheel driven cars. For the book, Historic Car Art has brought together 28 new and unseen artworks by eleven leading motorsport artists to celebrate the visual impact of these records and drivers through different mediums and contrasting styles. The Foreward is written by Don Wales (Grandson of Malcolm Campbell).
Each book is printed on the highest quality uncoated 300gsm art paper. The paper has a lovely feel and shows off the artwork to it’s best.
Limited first edition of 146 copies worldwide. Each comes with an embossed numbered art card featuring the portrait artwork of Malcolm Campbell by Roy Putt. Campbell was the first Briton to set a Land Speed Record in a British car at 146mph in 1924.
Produced to complement the exhibition SPEED running at the Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall and concurrently online 5th August to 15th September.
