This is what Niels has to say about his work:
The 356 was Porsche’s first production automobile. The reason for me deciding to illustrate the 356 C, Porsche’s last revision of the 356, is because I think it has the most fully developed aesthetics. They are balanced and clean, showing off it is a lightweight and nimble character. Earlier 356 models look heavier and slightly less sophisticated. Mainly due to the placement of the bumpers on the bottom end of the body and the wheels being pushed rather deep inside of the body. The 356 roofline is unqiue and informed the design of the 911, hence my choice for the hardtop coupé and not the open configuration. The surfacing is rich, creamy and generous, which I have translated in the techniques used to illustrate this automotive icon.
