The car: 1985 TVR 280i

Price: $11,500 (Buy it Now)

Location: South Jordan, Utah, USA

Imagine driving fewer than a thousand miles a year. Of course, you probably wouldn’t have much of a social life (without public transport, anyhow), but perhaps your car would look as well-preserved as this 1985 TVR 280i, whose paint is ninety percent original. In the past twenty-nine years, it’s only covered 21,000 miles.

However, it’s had a little help staying in shape. The interior and the convertible top–which can be closed, opened or transformed into a targa structure by removing a hard roof panel–are new. And while the undercarriage may not be new, it is rust-free and has its original powder-coating. And out back, the factory Jaguar rear end with inboard rear disc brakes still have their original pads.

A four-speed manual transmission is connected to a fuel-injected 2.8-liter German Ford V6. According to the seller, “The car does not leak and the engine is smooth and runs well.”

Strong money for a V6 powered TVR Wedge. I guess these must be pretty rare in the States?

Indeed! And consider the low, low mileage…

Just stumbled upon this, had no idea this was on petrolicious. This was my car and it sold gentleman in California. I made room for purchasing a 1972 TVR 2500.

The thing i loved about this wedge was the originality. Some people could care less about originality but to me, that patina is priceless.
