You might have noticed a new menu item on our header: Submit Your Car, or maybe you saw our post today about the Dodge Dart 270 and its owner. These submissions will be an ongoing column on our site showcasing the cars of our readers.

WHY WE WANT TO SHARE YOUR CARS ON PETROLICIOUS


We have a passion for vintage automobiles: we love to drive them, own them, film them, write about them, and photograph them. Not only do we share these things with you, but we also enjoy seeing which cars our Petrolicious readers own and love. We want to post about you and your cars on Petrolicious.com, and this new section of our site exists to offer you an opportunity to share your car with the Petrolisti community.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR


• We are looking for high-quality photos of your stock, custom, or modded vintage car. We prefer that the pictures be captured on a DSLR camera to get the best quality possible.

• Our “sweet spot” includes tasteful automobiles from the ’50s to the late ’80s, but depending on the car, we are open to things from earlier decades or possibly into the early ’90s.

• We accept cars that are professionally restored or enthusiast built.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR CAR


Email your reduced-size photos with a brief description about your car to yourcar@petrolicious.com. Let us also know why you love your car, why you bought it, and where you like to drive it. If we choose to run your photographs you will receive an email with instructions on how to upload higher-quality images.

We look forward to showcasing the passion and enthusiasm of our readers. Don’t be afraid to reach out, we are a friendly team!

If you’re posting photos of your car on Facebook or Instagram, show us by using the hashtag #drivetastefully.

Here’s my 1985 Celica Supra P type. I purchased mine nearly five years ago, after determining that my 1986 300 SDL was too afflicted by European Car Entropy to sink any more money into ( I had no garage then as well.) I purchased it in its present condition, tatty interior, lowered and with a set of tokickos that make all the difference. I love this car for the fact that it is a bridge between the British GT’s of the 60’s and the modern school of Haul-ass, reliable cars…

Bummer you’re limiting it to vintage 50’s – 80s :(. There are some of us driving newer cars (in my case brand new) who are Petrolisti as well, treating them much the same way the vintage cars are treated and embracing the lifestyle wholeheartedly. Perhaps in the future you could widen the criteria a bit :).

One better, a PI TR6 engine (or a 2500PI engine built to TR6 spec).

Might be a little less zingy than a triple-carbed 2.0l, but it should still be a brilliant engine. I’m hoping for somewhere around 170bhp at the end of it. I’m also hoping to keep the stock weight and distribution of the Spit too, with some lightweight goodies at the front end (the fibreglass bonnet saves 16kg alone). Then I’ll be replacing the old swing-axle rear suspension with a modified rotoflex rear suspension (replacing the rotoflex driveshaft with a twin CV one).

Then, it’ll be painted Valencia Blue, like the gorgeous little thing in the picture.
