Japan has produced some great classics and thankfully, many of them are affordable. If you’re looking for a reliable daily driver that you can enjoy on weekend runs then there are options for you. Here are a few classics we found and what they sold for. We have no doubt that you’ll be able to find similar deals.

The car: 1969 Datsun 1600

Price: $12,500

Location: Escondido, California, USA

A percentage of the asking price on any given Datsun is based on sentimental value. What’s so endearing about a 1600 or 240Z? Just ask anyone who owns one. The Datsun 1600 may just be one of the most undervalued classic cars around. This Datsun is a “very clean original car” and a one family owner.

The car: 1976 Toyota Carina

Price: €4,900

Location: Sprockhövel, Germany

The Carina was designed as a practical car with no thought of being on a classic car list in forty years. The vintage look and increasing rarity is bringing cars like the Carina to collectors with short budgets. This Toyota is in original condition with new tires and Bilstein shocks.

The car: 1985 Mazda RX-7 GS

Price: $11,900

Location: Akron, Ohio, USA

The first generation RX-7 was a shining star in an era of forgotten bloated sports cars. Dr. Felix Wankel’s rotary engine was successfully implemented providing a unique driving experience. As a result, the RX-7’s acceleration was more than sufficient for the era. With few first generations available in excellent condition, this series three may be a good choice with only 21,500 miles.

The car: 1988 Honda CRX

Price: €3,200

Location: Madrid, Spain

Depending on who you ask, the CRX is either a performance compact that’s economical or an economy car with performance aspirations. Either way, CRXs are plentiful and affordable. This 2+2 CRX has 135hp and a five speed manual transmission.

If you know of a great, stylish car for sale and would like us to feature it, please let us know!

How about something truly remarkable, and sure to appreciate rapidly? The original Silvia (one of only 500 or so):

No run-of-the-mill stuff there! Neko.
