When garage space and/or car funds are running low, collecting automobilia can be a great alternative to amassing actual automobiles. “The hunt” requires dedication, but the score is just as sweet, and the scope of what’s out there is at least as wide as the one that exists in the world of 1:1-scale cars. Most of us began collecting unbeknownst to our toddling selves with sticky handfuls of assorted Matchboxes, and as we grew up our bookshelves probably held a magazine or two with our favorite supercars reviewed, but some take the hobby significantly more seriously. Mass-produced models and brochures are one great and worth hanging onto, but the really rare stuff requires a different mindset.

We’ve featured items from Collector Studio in the past, and today we’re adding two more pieces in the form of an original front cowl lifted from one of the GTE-spec Ferrari F40s from the early 1990s, along with a replica of Kimi Räikkönen’s 2018 helmet—his last season with Ferrari—with an authentic signature from the Iceman himself.

1992 Ferrari F40 GT s/n 85690 front cowl.

This original front clip from a European race-spec Ferrari F40 / GTE Challenge car is in very good condition. The carbon kevlar weave is all intact as is the red paint with the blue trim to the bottom. The clip was originally mounted on the #2 car that was raced by Pierre Popoff under Auto Club Italia sponsorship in the Challenge GT SuperTurismo series and inaugural Italian GT Championship in 1992. Around 10 of these F40 GTs were prepared by Michelotto in period and a few more were built after.

Kimi Raikkonen Ferrari Signed Bell Replica Helmet (view details and order information here)

2018 Kimi Raikkonen Ferrari official Bell signed replica helmet, The Final Edition.

This copy of Kimi’s final Ferrari helmet was made by Bell Racing and painted by Uffe Designs. It is an absolutely perfect replica of the helmet Kimi wore in the Ferrari SF71-H using a proper RS7 Pro carbon helmet. The helmet has been signed on the visor and is complete with luxury display case and numbered plaque.

A tiny edition of just 18 of these were done for Bell, and it is of course accompanied by our lifetime certificate plus one from Bell Racing. Display Case Dimensions: 15 x 12 x 12″
