1973 Bond Bug
Owner: Joseph Stambach

What goes 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, has a top speed of over 120 MPH, a six-speed sequential gearbox and a 11750 RPM redline? It’s a 1973 Bond Bug 700 ES. Ok, maybe not a stock 700ES but one fitted with a slightly more modern and powerful 1000cc motor from a Yamaha YZF-R1.
“It’s quite a machine, despite it’s lack of a wheel”, owner Joseph Stambach told us enthusiastically. “The feelings you get are a mix of supercar, vintage driving and motorbike.”
Joseph went on to tell us how amazing the car behaves on winding roads, “You’ll hear every person with no experience in 3 wheelers claim that this is crazy and no way you can go round a corner. It certainly gets the job done, the chassis is equipped with adjustable coilovers on all around. It’s light, with no chassis flex due to the three-wheel setup compared to a four-wheeled car.”
While you might not find us tooling around in one of these during Los Angeles’ rush hour, you can rest assured that Joseph has constructed one insane little street rocket. Well done good sir, now go scare the pants off of some young bloke in his Honda Civic!
