This year, 2019, marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic Italian Job movie and the 60th anniversary of the original Mini, which was such an integral feature of the crazy caper. To mark both of these occasions in style, the Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort & Spa is launching a special vintage Mini driving experience.
Located approximately one hour’s drive from the bustling cities of Pisa and Florence, and just two hours from the foothills of the Italian Alps and the Cinque Terre World Heritage Site, Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco is a great location from which to enjoy the superb driving roads in the area. In association with Classy Car Rentals, guests will be able to book a classic Mini to drive on these winding roads that are so reminiscent of the ones Charlie Croker and his gang drove (albeit in a bus) as they made their way to Switzerland with their haul of gold bars.
In-between these nostalgia-induced trips around the countryside, guests will be able to enjoy the amenities of the resort such as the spa facilities and vast outdoor pool. A two-night stay at Renaissance Tuscany, including breakfast, is priced from €548 ($615). The hotel will be on hand to arrange the car hire through Classy Car Rentals, priced from €573 ($643) excluding taxes for 4 hours. With so many fantastic wine farms dotted around the area, a chauffeur can also be arranged if guests prefer to do a bit of back seat driving. The experience is available to book now via the hotel’s website.
