The initial twelve months of production can be a little rough and problematic for any car line. However, after soaring since 1967, this first-year Pontiac Firebird seems to have landed in terrific shape.
Of course, it’s received plenty of care along the way. The current owner restored this Tyrol Blue classic, which features new chrome trim and bumpers. Its black vinyl interior has also been refreshed.
Up front, there’s a 400 cubic-inch V8 paired with a 600-cfm, four-barrel Holley carburetor. The big engine puts its grunt to the road through a Turbo 400 automatic transmission, a 12-bolt rear end and 3.08 gears. Power steering and brakes are connected to fourteen-inch Pontiac Rallye II wheels w/ radial tires, keeping this bird flying right.
