Dee and Wayne love British cars. They often travel to different parts of the United States to participate in vintage car rallies. Together, they helped organize San Diego British Car Day.

Below is a Petrolicious Quick Take with the Johnsons and their beloved vehicle.

Q: Your names:

A: Dee & Wayne Johnson, but the car is actually Dee’s.

Q: What is the car’s make and model?

A: It’s a 1959 MG Magnette Mark3.

Q: Describe your car:

A: It’s gray and red. Its top speed is 85.5 miles per hour, it accelerates from 0-60

in 19.7 seconds, and it has a fuel consumption of 31.4 miles per imperial gallon.

Q: Best companion when driving this car:

A: Definitely each other.

Q: What is the best moment you’ve had with this car?

A: When we were at a North American MGA Register show in Wisconsin with 31

other Magnettes.

Q: If you could say one thing to your car’s original designer would be?

A: Make the clutch, gas and brake pedals further apart. Preesh!

Q: What is the perfect trip you’d love to take with this car?

A: We’d love to take it to England for a car show. It deserves to be shown off.

Q: Where would this car love to race?

A: Silverstone racetrack in England. This car has a wild side, you know.

Q: A perfect date for your car would be…?

A: This car has too high a pedigree to date anything else except another beautiful

1959 MG Magnette Mark3.

Q: What’s something you wish this car had?

A: Since we live in California, air conditioning would be a very nice thing to have.

Q: What’s something you’re happy this car doesn’t have?

A: Computer controls. My car and I don’t like to be told what to do.

Q: What car would you wish upon your best friend?

A: Range Rover. Another English beauty.

Q: When was the last time you swore you’d get rid of this car?

A: This summer when the fuel pump gave out on a rally, but as you can see, in the

end we didn’t part ways.
