The Greystone Concours D’Elegance is one of those things that if you live in L.A., and you’re a car guy, and you like unlimited Stella Artois…you just kinda have to go to. The ticket price can be a little steep for the size of the show, but compared to Pebble or the like, it’s actually quite reasonable considering you literally get to hang out at Greystone Mansion all day, eat incredible food, sample all sorts of delightful booze, and stare at exceptional cars.

I did exactly that the other day, and outside of a decent buzz, I left with a memory card full of photos. Many of the cars you’ll see below are on the docket for individual features and perhaps even a few films, so comb through with great attention to detail—you’re likely staring at future Petrolicious gold.

Great cars and venue but the wait lines for the Stella and the grub hardly worth the price.

Good composition, but I suggest increasing your exposure by 1/3 stop…

None of the actual award winners? The Mustang was beautiful, shame you didn’t take pics of it.

Many of the “Award Winners” were not the best cars at the show. E.g., the stunning Jaguar racer in these pics which arguably should have won best in show in the sports class did not even win the Jaguar class with just 6 cars! Instead the best in show for Jaguar went to a rather ordinary XK140. At best that “winner” should have been third behind the racer and the other Jag pictured here, the light green over green interior XK DHC. The Editors chose based on aesthetics, it would seem to me, whereas the “winners” were chosen based on politics and who they know.
