Today is the best hangover of the year: the Goodwood Festival of Speed hangover, where we’re sifting through (tens) of thousands of photos from the event. A Porsche 906 here, McLaren F1 there—if you’ve been, you’ll know how overwhelming it all is.

It’s as if the entire world of car enthusiasts packs up and heads to the Festival of Speed, and with no barriers between legends and fans, it’s not too long before you realize how special and somehow casual it all is. “OMG was that Jacky Icyx in front of me in line?” as you’re queuing for a snack, that sort of thing.

We’ll be rolling out many more stories from our time at Lord March’s house—including an interview with him—but for now, enjoy the first glimpse of this year’s festival, thank to Tim Scott’s inimitable photography.

Looking at the various photos I’m stuck with two thoughts:

1. The variety of racing machines is truly staggering… we are an odd species.
2. Dang, I love cars.

It was my first time on Saturday and unfortunately copped some very British weather. Having said that, it’s a fantastic event. A must do for any car enthusiast! Here’s my photos: https://lukestroud.smugmug.com/Goodwood-Festival-of-Speed/

Like the pictures! I just have a question about the Mazda. I think it’s a 767B but the commentators said it was the 787B that won at Le Mans in 1991… Do you agree it’s a 767B? There were arguments over the live stream comment section over this matter.

Nice! This is the best way to recap the event after watching it.
