Lacking the considerable resources to field his own full-sized Martini and Rossi racing team, Malte Dorowski, a creative and obviously very talented Porsche fan(-atic), did the only logical thing possible and built his own, but instead of using steel and fiberglass like the actual race cars, Legos are Malte’s building material of choice.
With what can only be described as an incredible attention to detail, this set features the Martini racing team’s Porsche collection, including a 911 Carrera RSR 2.1 Turbo, 935/76 Turbo, 935/78 Moby Dick, and a 936/77. Malte even thoughtfully built a Volkswagen T1 team support vehicle and a Ford C-Type race car transporter too. You know, to transport the cars to races.
This amazing effort remains a fan project for now, but Lego has something they call their “CUUSOO” program. Somewhat akin to Kickstarter, the toymaker allows Lego fans and artisans to submit ideas for Lego products, and If the idea gets enough buzz through supporters, the set may be turned into something made available commercially through Lego, with the original designer receiving one percent of the royalties.
Here’s hoping people take notice, and that this beautiful set makes it into production, because we’d like to have our own racing team too.

Excuse me a second while i wipe some of the drool from my mouth 😀 Being a huge lover of cars and legos this is bascially a dream come true. Lego has to build this please!!. I can think of a few other ideas i like to see in Lego form. Maybe a Shelby racing team and/or Scarab racing team would look fine in lego.
