A lot of people in the United States are into European cars. In fact, some folks love European cars so much that they get vehicles that were specifically built for The Continent. The square one-piece headlamp casings, as opposed to a pair of twin round units, on this 1976 Mercedes-Benz 450SEL make it clear that this is a Euro model.
The mechanical well-being of this 102,897-mile W116 long-wheelbase cruiser has been in the hands of one man throughout its time with its current owner. The owner states that this Mercedes “has been meticulously maintained by my personal mechanic at (Dallas Precision Imports), who started his career at the Dallas Mercedes dealership in the ’70s. The [4.5-liter V8 gas] engine is original and in excellent condition.” The current title-holder has all of the vehicle’s maintenance records to go with it.
Although “the interior carpet does show some minor wear and there are a few … cracks in the dash,” those blemishes haven’t dimmed this car’s star power. The seller states it’s been used in film and photography shoots for the past three years. “Upgraded … Chrome Wheels,” a fresh coat of silver paint and fog lights help it shine brighter.
This vintage offering also has the three-pointed star power of being a Mercedes-Benz, so it comes equipped with power windows, steering and brakes, in addition to a power antenna.

Seems priced fairly compared to the above. . euro bumpers, mostly restored 🙂
It would have been better for the owner to have kept the original MB alloy rims. The AC unit in the dash is not European but seems to be an aftermarket fit?
Also no one would have fitted the ugly US safety bumpers to an European car, the European versions are so much nicer to look at.
I’am to having doubts this is an 450SEL 6.9 V8
Benjamin, I bet you mean 6,9.
Totally agree, those wheel trims are both ugly and unoriginal.
And yes, bumpers are US specs. In fact, European bumpers look much much better.
The car also has US dashboard. With 100k miles, even that pretty lady on the photoshoot doesn’t make it a good deal ))
