The 1900hp electric Battista hypercar from Automobili Pininfarina will make its UK debut at the 77th Goodwood Members’ Meeting, on 5-7 April, displayed alongside the Pininfarina-designed 1955 Lancia Aurelia owned by the Duke of Richmond. The Battista’s lead development driver Nick Heidfeld—the fastest man on the Goodwood Hill, and a former Formula 1 and Formula E racer—will be in attendance, along with Rene Wollmann (below right) who, having led the development team for the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE, has recently joined Automobili Pininfarina as Programme Director, Sportscars.
The car on display will be the Bianco Sestriere pearlescent white design model seen at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and with design touches inspired by the famous 1970 Ferrari 512S Modulo concept.
“It is a privilege to return to Goodwood for the UK debut of the Pininfarina Battista,” said Heidfeld. “The Members’ Meeting is full of legendary sports cars that in many cases have become game changers. We aim for Battista to be regarded in the same way in the future and to be recognised for the perfect combination of beautiful aesthetics and unprecedented performance. The innovative EV powertrain beneath the Battista’s carbon fibre body and monocoque provides the perfect platform on which to develop the most powerful car that will have ever been designed and built in Italy. I’m looking forward to sharing the past, present and future of Pininfarina and presenting the Battista at Goodwood in April.”
Pininfarina retail partners HR Owen and Rybrook will be on-site to take orders from prospective buyers.
