Looking like the offspring between a Packard Hawk and a Sunbeam Alpine, the dark-like Daimler SP250 sports car was introduced at the 1959 New York Auto Show equipped with fiberglass body, four-wheel disc brakes, 2.5L hemispherical V8, and four-speed manual—quite modern for its time. Jaguar bought out Daimler the following year, continuing to tweak the sports car through 1964. In total, 2,645 were built.

This 1960 SP250 on eBay, originally sold by a New York dealership, was painted Daimler Ivory with tan interior until it was restored about ten years ago to its current red. Equipped with cigarette lighter and ash tray, fuel reserve switch, heater, adjustable steering wheel, front bumper, and wire wheels, among others, this Daimler is purported to be a “very good-quality driver” with excellent chrome and an interior that needs nothing. It has never been in an accident and the frame is rust-free. The optional hardtop will require painting, but that’s a small hurdle in owning an authentic British sports car (in fiberglass, no less) with genuine hemi V8 power.
