Savannah Speed Classic 2012

By Petrolicious
November 21, 2012

Unlike many auto racing events, the Savannah Speed Classic offers a unique, up close and personal perspective. From access to the pit/paddock to actual time on the track, spectators get the real feel for the life of a racecar driver. It’s an experience unlike any other.

Our photographer Frazer Spowart was at the end-of-October event this year and gives us an insight into the day’s races.

Awesome photos as ever. I am absolutely loving Petrolicious, it has a perfect perspective mix of the artistic, historical and cultural in how it looks at cars – not to mention great taste in autos. Can I just suggest a design tweak, though – this may just be me, but can you get the related articles on the same page as the main piece so they don’t get their own little grey dot in the article navigation? I always click on the final dot out of habit thinking there’s more article, then find it’s just the related stuff, then click the back button on the browser instinctively, which doesn’t work. I appreciate you may not want to clutter up the pages, but think you’d get more clicks on related stuff this way too.

Thank you for the compliments! It’s been our goal from the onset to have a good mix of the artistic and cultural in the site, so we’re happy that people like you are appreciating it.

Regarding the design tweak, we totally agree and an update to the site that includes your suggestion plus other enhancements is coming very soon.

Small bore, 2 liters and under, Datsun 2000 roadster any day of the week, but I’m biased there. Medium bore, 2.5l and under, E30 M3, but that is hardly vintage so I guess a 250 GTO Ferrari, and 3 liters and greater, the BMW 3.5 CSL.
