Los Angeles is hard on cars.
Not in the way that the East Coast is with its salty winters, or the south is, with its damp heat. L.A. is hard on cars in the sense that there is this pervasive, invisible, cloud of dust and smog that seems magnetically attracted to everything we care about. Don’t believe me? Start paying more attention to how decades-old paint jobs are holding up. Case in point: this otherwise perfectly maintained 190E 23-16 parked in front of the delightful automotive boutique, Period Correct.
For those who live in Los Angeles, do you find the same?
But errr .. seriously y’all … a few streaks and a bit of rain residue concerns ya that freaking much ? Really ? Good lord … y’all needs to get s grip . Dirt dust rain pollen snow ice etc etc et al are all part of the automotive experience . Unless of course y’alls wanting to live in a bubble …. which having lived there …. I know y’all think you kind of do . Mean ole mother nature intruding upon your domain . Shame on her . Goodness … what a wench
[ sarcasm for the sake of humor most definitely intended .. insult neither being implied nor inferred … but … if the shoe fits ……………. sorry gents … never could avoid a good straight line when delivered ]
Dust ? In LaLa Land ? What dust ? That there’s bonafide acid rain inducing environmentally hazardous pollution particulates gents not to mention depending on the season * ash particles which in and of itself is riddled with caustic properties ! Not ‘ dust ‘ . And thats what’s so hard on yer paint jobs . The chemicals and acids within … not …. dust ! … cough … wheeze … hack …
FYI ; Don’t forget to chew thoroughly before inhaling …… ack …
It’s not that difficult to keep a car relatively clean in LA if it’s a priority. Between washes, I use water-free automobile cleaners and micro-fiber cloths to keep my car as clean as I can. Of course, if I had to park on a street and/or in an uncovered parking lot all day/night – it would be more troublesome.
