Taking place this Sunday across the globe is the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. It’s a multi-national event seeking to raise money to find a cure for prostate cancer. The ride is “an international event for classics, café racers, bobbers, trackers, customs, modern classics, classic scooters and undefinable 2/3 wheeled machines.”
There are over 250 rides taking place across fifty-seven countries. Started in 2012, The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride was inspired “by a photo of Mad Men’s Don Draper astride a classic bike and wearing his finest suit.” The decision that a themed ride would be a great way to fight the usually stereotypes theta motorcyclists face. That first ride saw over 2500 people ride in sixty-four cities. And that success encouraged the organizers to consider using the event to support a worthy cause. Their goal this year was to raise over one million USD to fight prostate cancer.
How is it going? Well they’ve already exceeded it by over $220,000. But prostate cancer is still not cured so there’s still reason to contribute!
Head here to check out details on the event and here to contribute. Thanks!
Me and a friend were unsuspectingly strolling around in Stockholm, Sweden this Sunday. On our walk in to town we saw a massive crowd of over 100 Harley Davidsons outside Hard Rock Café. We had a little look around before continuing our walk. An hour later, and we meet this massive train of bikers cruising through town. Men in suits on Bobbers, Café racers and even Vespas rolling through town waving at people. There must have been roughly 150 bikers rolling through.
We just thought it was an awesome bike-meet. I’m guessing it must have been this.
