These days, the price of entry to a V8-powered Porsche starts at $113,400 for a brand-new Panamera GTS. On the secondary market however, that figure is considerably lower. Sure, there are pre-owned specimens of the hump-backed hauler out there, but there are also plenty of examples of the original eight-cylinder P-car, the 928, for far more affordable sums.
This 1985 S model is going for a firm $5,900. It’s only had three owners throughout its 95,845 miles. The German 2+2 has a “new timing belt, water pump and tune,” as well as white gold metallic paint, a brown leather interior and “cast light alloy factory wheels.” Full service records are available.
Porsche’s 5.0-liter aluminum V8, which produces 288 horsepower and 302 pound-feet of torque, is connected to a five-speed manual transmission. The included factory brochures will say as much. They’ll probably also state that this car went for around $50,000 back in the middle of the 1980s. Make no mistake, this is a very good price, for what looks to be a very original, desirable front-engined Porsche.
