The great thing about us enthusiasts is that we’re all pretty much just grown-up kids, our enthusiasm and excitement for shiny, loud, fast things a remnant of the childhood wonderment that many of our less fortunate adults have sadly lost sight of. After all, how many of us refer to our wheeled pride and joys as “weekend toys”? Of course, the love of actual toy cars is still very strong for many of us as well.
In that vein we introduce this week’s Crave-able collector items, vintage Schüco vehicles of varying types—wind-ups, remote-controlled, battery-operated “automatic” cars, and non-motorized scale replicas of all sizes, shapes, and varieties. The brightly-colored buses, trucks, sportscars and racers of all makes remind us of simpler days, where a little plastic or metal car could entertain for hours, firing our imaginations on all tiny, growing cylinders.
Browse through and see what you like. Prices range from pocket change to several hundreds of dollars, but even the more affordable pieces evoke warm memories and make for great office or garage décor.
