If you haven’t already, the Petersen Museum’s Car Stories Podcast is one to subscribe to. Capitalizing on its unrivaled access to pretty much every cool car person who visits Los Angeles, it often features a great guest and a great discussion with host and friend of Petrolicious, A.J. Gordon.
This week’s episode (embedded below) is with the star of our most recent film, Savant Young. Young and his modified Mazda RX-3 are quite the duo, with the car taking on a bit of his only-for-business mentality. Only for business?
Well, Young’s a mixed martial arts expert, and the “business” end of things involves hustling a 400 horsepower rotary Mazda around L.A.’s canyons. I’ll let A.J. Gordon and the Car Stories podcast take it away…
You can follow all of the fun things the Petersen Museum does on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
One of the many things you youngins missed was watching tricked out , hot rodded and seriously modded RX3’s cleaning everyone.s clocks from muscle cars right on up to the exotics on the drag strips as well as many an SCCA road race .
God that was so much fun . Watching these little screaming meemies blowing by the competition left and right . And on the Rally circuit ? Well … suffice it to say along with the Datsun 510 , Dodge/Mitsubishi Colt these were the independents rally car of choice which then led the way to the RX7’s later success
PS; if you’ve never witnessed first hand an RX3 pulling a wheelie for 3/4 of a quarter mile track all while making mince meat of one muscle car or another .. well … y’all have no idea what you missed out on
