Aston Martin has just unveiled its DBS GT Zagato at the inaugural Audrain’s Newport Concours in the United States. This is the Zagato that is sold as one of a pair with the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation car to complete the DBZ Centenary Collection, which will cost £6m plus local taxes.
This is the first view of the new DBS GT Zagato in full-size form, and is shown in Supernova Red—a color exclusive to the DBS GT Zagato ‘Centenary Specification’—with contrasting exposed carbon fiber accents and satin black and gold 3D machined wheels. There’s also the gloss finish carbon-fiber roof and rear diffuser, solid 18-carat gold wings badges front and rear, black anodized active front grille and gold anodized side strakes and center-lock wheel nuts.
The DBS GT Zagato shown features rich Caithness Spicy Red leather, Zagato ‘Z’ seat quilting and satin-twill exposed carbon fiber fitted to both the paddle shifts and steering wheel. It also utilizes the first automotive application of configurable carbon and metal 3D-printed interior finishes.
A central ‘saddle’ design features a unique parametric, inter-locking form, available in a range of three materials and finishes, which include the choice of printed carbon, aluminum, or PVD coated (physical vapor deposition) gold stainless steel. The PVD, which is part of the Centenary Specification package, requires almost 100 hours of print time with additional polishing and post-processing by craftsmen.

They have taken the already fabulous DBS Superleggera and shaped it into something which retains its Aston Martin identity, yet expresses itself as only a Zagato can. It is the modern expression of a timeless icon.”
The DB4 GT Zagato Continuation, which is sold alongside the new DBS GT Zagato in the DBZ Centenary Collection, is the latest Continuation sports car to be created by Aston Martin and hand-built at Aston Martin Works, based in the company’s former Newport Pagnell factory. Each of the 19 DB4 GT Zagato Continuation cars are being built at Aston Martin Works to the very highest standards using a mix of traditional David Brown-era craftsmanship and modern engineering methods.

The Audrain’s Newport Concours & Motor Week runs until Sunday 6 October and includes some of the East Coast’s most notable locations including the historic mansions of Bellevue Avenue and the Audrain Automobile Museum. All DB4 GT Zagato Continuation cars are scheduled to be delivered by the end of this year.
