The Mecum Auctions on January 10 in Kissimmee, Florida, will feature movie cars in the form of the GT40 from Ford v. Ferrari and the original Ford Mustang from Bullitt. Now they’re joined by another film car, a 1958 Plymouth Fury from the horror film Christine, based on the novel by Stephen King.

More than a few were used in the 1983 film, directed by John Carpenter; most were burned or wrecked in some way, but thankfully this one was used for the ‘model shots’ and is in pristine condition. It was part of a raffle after the film debuted and was part of the film’s 35th anniversary celebration in 2018 at the Rochester Auto Museum.

The car has undergone a complete restoration, and has a small-block V8 with Offenhauser intake manifold and dual four-barrel carburetors. An after-film addition is a bumper sticker on the rear that reads, “Watch out for me, I am pure evil, I am Christine”.

This Fury is the only documented Christine car from the film, and includes proof of ownership from Polar Films, photos of producer Richard Kobritz with the car and some of the cast members.

The real question is, how big a fan of the movie are you? The Fury is estimated to go for between $400,000 and $500,000.
