As part of an upcoming project we’re working on with the team behind Ten Tenths Racing, I spent the day with Marino Franchitti at the Mason Family garage a few weeks ago and I’m still working on picking my jaw up off the floor. Yes we’ve all had the pleasure of seeing a handful of these cars in their element on their race track at Goodwood and around the world, being flogged properly by Nick, Holly and the rest of their family – but to see so much at one time just floored me.
The project we’re working on will have a few dimensions, so I don’t mind referring to it here that it will include the Maserati Birdcage, but under strict permission from Ten Tenths they agreed that I share my photos that I snapped during our reconnaissance meeting as long as I kept some of the surprises for later. Please keep in mind that this is quite literally the tip of the iceberg in terms of not only the scale of the collection – all of which is actively used and campaigned – but the beginning of what we here at Petrolicious hope will be a long and prosperous partnership showcasing how much the Mason Family has given back to motorsport, and how they continue to do so every day.
With that I’ll leave this brief and let you enjoy the sculptural scenery, as it were. Please, please stay tuned. You’ll not want to miss what we’re cooking up.
