Neon Drive Is A Far Out ’80s Driving Arcade Game That We Can Get Behind
It takes a good 5 minutes for a modern console racing game to load up and throw you into a contest. Sure, it’s real-looking and the physics are great—but what if you just want to zone out for a bit while staring at the back end of a sports car? Neon Drive has it covered.
Our Editorial Director Ted Gushue sent the game to me like I hadn’t already been playing it for months—a great litmus test for a mobile game. Neon Drive’s premise is simple: there’s stunning, Tron (or arcade-style) graphics, catchy music…and all you have to do is move a car left or right.
Trust me, it’s easier said than done. With a glossy track that stretches toward a city in the distance, it’s reminiscent of an evening drive back toward your favorite metropolis. It’s tough to go wrong for less than $7. It’s available on Steam, macOS, and iOS.
