BMW only produced two mid-engine sport cars for market. The M1 was the first and probably one of the most appealing wedge design cars ever made. With production issues and fallout with Lamborghini, the M1 never made it to Group 5 and wound up racing in Group 4.
BMW created the Procar series as a way to get F1 drivers all in the same modified cars and racing with local racers. The late Niki Lauda took the Procar championship in 1979.
Six color screen and block print. Five layers of color are individually laid, via the screen printing process, before the final block print brings the image to life. The whole process is hand done. Starting with the carving of the block, to cutting templates for each color layer and finishing with hand pressing the block with a baren, in the traditional way.
As with any handmade item, each print is different and the colors never line up exactly the same. This is what gives the work its charm. Enjoy the imperfections.
