The car you see here is a transformer–in more ways than one. This 1985 Peugot 205 GTi has switched its citizenship from Welsh to American (it’s now registered and street-legal in Maryland, and across the USA). With a little work, using included parts, it can also be changed from a street machine into a track toy.
Its owner states, “I currently have the front half-leather seats in, carpet, lower dash, and half of the [Safety Devices] roll cage in. However, all of that can be taken out and the full rollcage and [Cobra] racing seat and [Sparco] harness can be put in. Both the seat and harness already have the anchors in place.”
Other track hardware pieces include big disc brakes, a Piper performance exhaust, a cold air intake, OMP strut braces, a fire extinguisher and mounting bracket, and a power shut-off switch.
For the street, this right-hand-drive hatch that “drives like a hooligan” features new fog lights, power windows, a sunroof, iPod compatibility, Pioneer speakers and Speedline Corse fifteen-inch wheels.
Although it has some dings and scratches, this Peugeot packs “a number of newer parts, including a brand new fuel pump, new oil filter, spark plugs, alternator belt, etc.”
