Classic Car Auctions are bringing what they call a selection of fun and funky yet frugal classics to their next auction on 5 October. With a selection of 115 lots from affordable starter classics to some pricey and rare exotics, there will also be a number of interesting models from across various eras that have a more off-beat appeal.

The 1972 Fiat 500 Gamine by Vignale is one of these more quirky offerings. Based on the original Fiat 500, it was produced by Carozzeria Vignale and will doubtless turn heads with its uncharacteristically large grille and low-cut doors. It has been fully restored and looks ready for the beach with its red paintwork and beige interior.  It has just 27,637 miles on its odometer and is estimated to sell for between £22,000 to £26,000 ($27,000 and $32,000).

At the other end of the scale in size and intended use is a 1928 Pontiac 6-28 2-door Sedan. Painted in Forest Green and fitted with a 25hp 3.0-liter straight-six engine it is the perfect daily-driver for the classic car lover who is not in any particular hurry. With the price set at between £8000 to £10,000 ($9800 to $12,000) it offers great value too.

The 1936 Austin 10 Tourer is another off-piste convertible offering and has added practicality thanks to a fully functioning Dickie seat and a good condition soft top. With a low estimate of between £7000 to £9000 ($8600 to $11,000), this little Austin is another cost-effective way into the classic car scene. For those interested in something (a bit) more modern, there is also a 1974 Austin Mini Clubman with just 12,000 miles registered on its clock and a funky 1984 Citroen 2CV Hoffman Cabrio, built using a kit developed in the ’80s by Wolfgang Hoffmann and believed to be just one of two in the UK.

Gary Dunne, Classic Car Auctions auction manager commented: “These are some of the great cars being offered in a weeks time at the Warwickshire Event Centre. The Fiat 500 Gamine really stands out not just in condition but also looks fabulous in red and the 12,000-mile Clubman is also a super car for one lucky bidder”. Lot viewing takes place the day before the auction and for further information, you can head on over to CCA’s site.
