Villa d’Este Was a Weekend of Style on the Shores of Lake Como

We had an incredible time along the breathtaking shores of Lake Como, Italy, last weekend, taking in scenes of gorgeous cars, stylish people, and stately architecture of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

Regardless of the rarity of the model or the price of the car, every owner had no problem letting their beloved machines be approached for photographs—even the GTOs or D-Types. In fact, this relaxation, this feeling of simple luxury were the prevailing sentiments of Villa d’Este. The owners were all extremely friendly and real gentlemen—they were happy to discuss their car and would open the hood for anyone who wanted to see their engine.

The event the following day at Villa d’Erba was filled with a hushed atmosphere of respect. Here there are no barriers or protection around the cars, but still nobody touches them. At Villa d’Erba the public is allowed to walk the grounds of the estate, take the time to look at each car, enjoy a Spritz along the lake with views of its bordering Swiss Alps, and then enjoy the parade.

We are definitely looking forward to visiting again next year!
