Alfa Romeo Unveils Race-Inspired Liveries For The Giulia GTA

Earlier in March, Alfa Romeo celebrated its 110th anniversary as a carmaker by introducing the Giulia GTA and GTAm, lightened versions of the sporty Giulia Quadrifoglio sedan. Now, it wants to pass those celebrations on to customers with historic race-inspired liveries of these special edition cars.

The GTA – short for Gran Turismo Alleggerita – is already a special car, with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 that makes 540hp, and is 100kg lighter than the Quadrifoglio’s 1,620kg. The GTAm is even more hardcore, with a larger front splitter and new carbon-fibre rear wing, a roll bar in lieu of a rear seat and six-point harnesses. Only 500 will be built, and customers can make them even more special with these new paintjobs, which harken back to Alfa’s glory days of its original GTA in racing from the 1960s and ‘70s.

Centro Stile Alfa Romeo, the company’s design and build division, has available this host of color combinations, ‘including the yellow nose that distinguished the 1971 European Touring Car Championship (ETCC) winning car, the asymmetrical nose from the 1965-1968 Sprint GTA and the symmetrical nose of the GTA 1300 Junior.’ Others include an ochre, white, red and yellow combination, reminiscent of when Toine Hezemans won the ETCC in 1970 with a 1750 GTAm, as well as a combination of logos and stripes for personalization.

Clients can also choose a racing number and a custom car cover. If you don’t want such an overtly motorsports vibe, you can also have a GTA or GTAm in GTA Red, Trophy White or Montreal Green, all indicative of the Italian flag.
