An Alfa Romeo Montreal Is Santa’s Last Ride

A few days ago on Facebook, we asked, “Which cars look best with Christmas trees on them?” and you responded in kind, with nearly 500 shares, 100 comments, and 3,250 “Likes” as of this writing. After seeing the post, our photographer Máté Boér was inspired to answer in his own way: with an impromptu photo shoot.

An Alfa Romeo Montreal may not be your first choice for tree removal, but imagine this scenario…

It’s late December. The sleigh is tucked away until next year. Santa has finally gotten enough rest following the 25th, and after a hearty breakfast, it’s finally time to relieve some stress with a spirited drive through the mountains. With one foot out the door, he hears Mrs. Claus from the living room: “Don’t forget to take out the tree…”

We now present the following sequence of events…

…and, of course: a hearty “Happy holidays” from Petrolicious.

SOOOO terrorized about that rear windshield, the thing is so delicate! If the hinges or “locks” (sorry, I’m not English or American) are ever so slightly off center, the thing cracks and explodes. Pretty much no spares available. It has happened twice to us on two different Montreals, one was refitted and perfectly reallined and hasn’t had problems (although we’re always expecting something to go wrong 😀 ), the other was substituted with a plexiglass replica. Its new owner has found a replacement but keeps it on the shelf for the time being!
Seeing that thick tree branch hanging over it fills me with dread. Great pictures though!

Yeah, they are mission impossible to get. One of the hinges is a bit loose, so there’s some flexibility 🙂

I don’t think that I’ve ever even seen a Montreal before, but I have to agree. That looks so cool. Who wants to trade one for a gently used Lexus? Anyone…
