Earlier today we asked you about America’s unsung automotive heroes and while the Corvette certainly doesn’t fall into that category, it is nicknamed “America’s Sports Car” after all, it’s still worth a look. Fifty years of existence takes its toll on everyone and everything, especially automobiles. To reverse the effects of that much time and 117,000 miles, the seller of this “# matching” 1964 Chevrolet Corvette convertible has fitted it with several new parts.
Since buying the bow-tie boulevard cruiser in 2003, the current owner has replaced the gas tank, soft top, brakes and brake lines, exhaust, tires, battery and “some mechanicals.” The car also has a removable hard top and a manual transmission. Despite the vehicle’s age, its owner is “comfortable driving it anywhere.”
