The Alpine A110 Is at Home in the French Countryside

Originally purchased in the early 1970s by the Alpine Dutch Club president in The Netherlands, this 1972 Renault Alpine A110 1600 S didn’t see the open road too often, since roads in The Netherlands during that time period were more dirt than tarmac.

Frederic Novo bought this car from its original owner in 2008, and you couldn’t ask for a better candidate to care for such a car. He had owned two Alpines before this one, but the first wasn’t powerful enough, and the second was a race car that his wife wasn’t able to drive, so this one has been a perfect fit between power and driveability.

Spotting an Alpine A110 is always a beautiful thing, but what’s more beautiful is to see one gliding through the French countryside on its home soil.

Hello:
Beautiful pictures. These are one of the very few French cars that I love. I was fortunate enough to be in France at the time of a meet of the French Alpine club and documented it (naturally). http://wp.me/P30bdG-1B

What a nice A110! Having one, a 1300 Gordini engine (1296cc), I’ll be more than please to see a video from you about these cars! I think they’re worth it.

Regards from Belgium!

They still make the bodies in Mexico, Here a link to a company making an all wheel drive version with a twin turbo engine. http://www.sterlingsportscars.com/Sports_Car_Chassis.html

Automotive Art, the Renault Alpine A110, I also like the later versions with the V6 PRV engine.
But like the rest of its French Automotive manufacturers Renault did not care anything about build quality.
Even on this fine example, doors are not in line, body panels make strange curves….
I know, the body is glass fiber, but that didn’t stop other manufacturers from doing their job right.

Wow. A110 at its best. Beautiful specimen and details like the pre-2009 license numbering and Jean Rédélé’s sticker just add to the pictures’ perfectness…

These are rapidly becoming one of my favorite automotive designs, and by proxy, one of my favorite cars. It is every bit as beautiful as the Ferraris and Masaratis of its time. Absolutely beautiful. I want one.
