If you enjoyed our Collector Series article, earlier this week, on why the Facel Vega HK500 is collectable, you’ll want to pay attention to this find. Presidents Eisenhower, Reagan, Clinton and Obama; major moments in the history of this Facel Vega HK500 have occurred during the administrations of those four men.

According to the seller, this 1960 model was built in late 1959 and features a “Torqueflite automatic transmission, power steering, disc brakes, closed Borrani steel wheels, [and] tinted glass.” The last time this HK500 was for sale was over 30 years ago. In August of 1998, this 70,181-mile French find was put into a climate-controlled garage and dressed in a dust cover.

Now, it’s on the market again. And after all of this time, its “body is 100% rust free [sic] as is the chassis.” The windows go up and down quickly. “Even the two antenae [sic] work when the radio is turned on.”

Although this classic needs new tires and paint, and work to repair its interior and exhaust, it has new fluids and belts, and overhauled brakes. The United States’ commander-in-chief doesn’t have to worry about such things, but on the other hand, he isn’t able to drive himself, especially in a Facel Vega.
