The Corpus Christi Old Car Museum Auction is scheduled to be held on 4-5 October this year on the USA’s Gulf Coast. With a selection of over 200 collector cars and 100 pedal cars being offered there is likely going to be something there for just about every taste. Especially so if you happen to be a fan of the pretty Apollo GT from the ‘60s.

This diminutive American sports car featured beautiful aluminum coachwork by Italian firm Intermeccanica and was powered by a big Buick V8 giving it very strong performance. Worldwide Auctioneers will be offering three up for sale at the upcoming no-reserve private collection auction. The first two are the very first 3500 GT Spider and 3500 GT Coupe variants ever built and the third is a 1966 Apollo 5000 GT Coupe.

“Just 88 Apollos were built in total and the offering of this trio represents a significant opportunity for collectors of the finest GT cars across the world,” said John Kruse, Principal and Auctioneer. “We’re honored to be staging another exceptional museum collection sale and excited to be able to offer such an outstanding selection of cars and pedal cars, entirely without reserve.” The two 1963 3500 GTs were fitted with a 225hp 3.5-liter version of the venerable Buick V8 while the later 5000 GT got a 350hp 4.9-liter V8, with a curb weight of around 2500 pounds both variants were very quick machines in their day.

Other notable entrants are a late-model 1958 Porsche 356A/1600 Speedster that is ready for a complete restoration, a 1979 Ferrari 308 GT4 which is believed to be the last US example built as well as a 1928 Hudson Super Six Series O Convertible Sedan. Formerly of the Eldon and Esta Hostetler Collection, the Hudson is a winner of multiple awards including Best in Class at the 2009 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. With such a wide array of classics from various eras as well as over 100 collectible pedal cars, the October event promises to be an unmissable event for those looking to add something unique to their collections.
