Earlier today, we featured an Aston Martin DB6, photographed by Mr. Rémi Dargegen that embodies sporting elegance and style. To complement its vintage spirit in our contemporary world we’ve paired it with some of Belstaff’s finest threads: the Weybridge Jacket and Braxton Jeans.
We can’t imagine a more appropriate match for classic British motoring than Belstaff’s creamy-soft, signature hand-waxed leather jacket, itself derived from Belstaff’s storied involvement with motorcycling. The Weybridge Jacket looks like it was designed with the DB6 in mind, its leather as comfortable as the DB6’s soft, supportive seats. The Braxton Jeans are sewn from soft Japanese denim “made exclusively with varying yarn sizes to give it texture and an artisanal hand.” In fact, the same sort of hand-built, one-off techniques that were used to manufacture such bespoke motors as the Aston Martin are similar to Belstaff’s approach to making timeless clothing.
Perhaps that’s why Belstaff’s fashions and the DB6 are so elegant: only the necessary elements remain. Belstaff focuses on clothing designed to work. The fact that their clothing looks great is a byproduct of its honesty, quality craftsmanship, and materials.
